While scouring the web one lazy Spring morning—said cyberspace journey borne totally out of frustration at having wasted precious time sitting at a Mazda service department only to discover my needed part was not in stock—I happened upon this intriguing tidbit. The elusive yet oft-quoted “they” say that necessity is the mother of invention. If this is true, then perhaps somewhere down the line as one creation morphed into another, boredom has now become the stepmother of reinvention. It just goes to show that one person’s state of utter boredom can be another person’s jackpot.
This gadget is called the Hot-Pot BBQ and it's sold and distributed by Black+Blum. And yes, your peepers are not deceiving you; it does look like a potted herb plant at first glance. But take a closer look and you’ll soon realize that it’s also a grill. BBQ-loving gardeners will be totally smitten with this! Both my grilling skills and gardening skills leave very little to desire, and even I love this Hot-Pot.
Now for the bad news: This cleverly-designed piece is currently out of stock. And while I am not one to deliberately rain on someone else’s parade, Black+Blum is located in London, so shipping costs may be a hindering factor for my stateside brethren. However, the good news is you can reserve a Hot-Pot, which will be available in May.
