This week. I want to share one of her favorite dessert recipes, which actually was printed on the backside of a Land 'o Lakes butter package. My sisers and I have been making this delicious dessert for over 20 years, so it is a recipe that has stood the test of time in my family.

Merry Cheese Cakes(Contributed in memory of my mother, Helene Streeter)
CRUST & TOPPING
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sweet butter, softened
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts
FILLING:
8 oz. pkg cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. each milk and lemon juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 350°. In a bowl combine flour, butter and brown sugar. Blend with mixer at low speed for 2-3 minutes until fine. Stir in nuts. Reserve 1 cup of mixture for topping; pat remainder in ungreased 8” sq pan. Bake near center of oven for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Prepare filling by blending filling ingredients until smooth. Spread filling over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Return to oven for 23-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool; cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.
This cake sound do delicious! I don't think I ever had something like it! Thanks for sharing!
