It is with great sadness, despair and a heavy heart (yes, I get that way over food) that I report Fox Island Seafood House, a/k/a F.I.S.H., in Port Chester, NY, is no more.
While I learned of this devastating news late in the game, it still stings. Especially when, on a gorgeous spring day last Saturday, my husband and I schlepped over to Port Chester, NY with mouths watering only to find F.I.S.H. locked up tight.
F.I.S.H. had a great eight year run, but because of sewage issues at the restaurant, a landlord who either couldn’t afford to pay or just flat out didn’t want to plunk down the dollars to pay to fix the problem resulted in the restaurant closing its doors more than seven months ago.
Seriously, it is a loss. F.I.S.H. may not have been much to look at, and getting to the place—located at the far and scary end of an industrial strip—may have been a bit sketchy to some, it sat along the banks of the Byram River where diners could relax al fresco on the outdoor deck and enjoy really good food.
R.I.P., F.I.S.H. You will be missed. And so will your crab cake. And your fish & chips. And everything else on the menu.
thanks for the info as to why it closed
