YZ All Natural Hydravesent Crystals |
Recently,
I received sample packs of a new product called “YZ”. No, you don’t pronounce it “Y-Z” but rather “wise.” If you aren't already privy to this bit of information, YZ is a line of all
natural hydravescent crystals created to give your water a hydration boost. YZ comes in three flavors, all of which
are caffeine-free, naturally flavored and colored, and they’re designed to make
your water work harder. Simply mix with 16 ounces of water, shake and you’re
good to go.
Now take my word for it: I’m no fitness guru, scientist, over-the-top health nut or representative from
the U.S. FDA, so the veracity of YZ’s health benefit claims are totally their own.
What I do know, however, is that as amped-up
hydrating drinks go, these three varieties are actually quite thirst-quenching
and, from a natural standpoint, appear to provide essential benefits to our
bodies.
Here's the YZ rundown:
The Raspberry
Green Tea flavor is an Antioxidant. This
variety combines several extracts, including acai, green tea, pomegranate and
elderberry. It purports to reduce oxidative stress while doing battle against damaging
free radicals.
For
Digestive Health, try the Lemon Ginger flavor. The tartest of the three (while still being pleasurable to the
taste buds), lemon ginger also contains green tea extract along with prebiotic
fiber which promotes the growth of good bacteria to support a healthier
digestive system.
Admission
time: I drank a bottle of the lemon ginger hydrated water when my stomach was
feeling less than optimal. Not too long afterwards, my stomach began to settle
considerably without the need for OTC medications.
But Valerie, why
is this important?,
you might ask.
I’m
glad you asked. I’ll tell you why. Before trying any of the YZ products, I hadn’t read up on it, done any research,
and was unaware of which product flavor provided what health benefit. It was
only after trying all three that I
discovered that one of the benefits of lemon ginger’s digestive health variety
was settling the stomach. Coincidence? Perhaps. However, I can only state what
occurred after drinking what purports to settle the stomach, and that’s what occurred.
The
third flavor, Orange Mango Pineapple, instills benefits for Immunity with added grapeseed and
elderberry extracts as well as vitamins C and E. This was by far my favorite of
the three flavors.
By
the way, all three flavors contain electrolytes (great after a workout), they’re sweetened with natural
cane sugar and Stevia and are low in calories. It’s an effervescent product
(oooh look…bubbles!) but there’s no carbonation involved. There’s no real right or specified time to drink YZ;
you can drink it just like you would plain old water. We drink to stay hydrated
. . . why not do it with flavor and derive a few natural benefits at the same time?
Do you recommend YZ Hydravescent Crystals?
Yes.
I believe their claims of health benefits to be realistic, and you don’t have
to force a putrid tasting liquid down your throat to reap those benefits. While
the flavors that they currently offer are good, I would like to see a flavor or
two involving grapes, strawberries or watermelon, but then again that’s just my
personal proclivity.
Where can I
purchase YZ?
You
can buy YZ direct online or find
them locally in-store.
