Gadgets 'n Stuff: Cut-N-Slice Flexible Cutting Boards

How many times have you been busy chopping away in the kitchen and, once finished, you want to easily transfer the goods from the cutting board to a pot without spilling? What better way to do that then to sort of fold over the cutting board to reduce spillage and carry from the counter to the stove. But here’s the rub: you can’t do that with a traditional cutting board.

Why? Because a traditional board isn’t pliable. What to do…what to do.

I for one can stop frettin’ and sweatin’ the small stuff because Norpro has got this one figured out for me. They have these very workable Cut-N-Slice Flexible Cutting Boards that, while they won’t change the rotation of the earth on its axis, will make cutting in the kitchen just a little bit easier to deal with.

One of the really cool things about the boards—besides being dishwasher safe—is they’re color coded. This could go a long way in helping to prevent against cross-contamination. You know, use one for fruits and veggies, another for meats and another for poultry or seafood.

And the pliable nature of the boards mean they’re super flexible, so you can bend them or create an instant funnel. This may not excite you, but it does small wonders for me (but not in the I need a cigarette afterwards sort of way...).

If you have a kitchen gadgets 'to buy' list, the Norpro Cut-N-Slice Flexible Cutting Boards, Set of 3 should be on it.
