Could YOU be the Next Great Memoir Cookbook Author?

While scouring the internet searching for fun things to do with one of my sisters when she comes for a visit from Maryland during the Veterans Day weekend, I came across a fascinating workshop. This workshop is designed for those with a fondness for reminiscing and who are interested in pooling their memories of family life, along with taking their favorite recipes from childhood to the present, and incorporating it all into a memoir cookbook.

The Fairfield Public Library system is sponsoring a workshop titled Memory to Memoir: A Memoir Cookbook Writing Workshop Series, presented by Fairfield resident and freelance writer Rita Papazian. Ms. Papazian will lead participants through the process of preserving family memories by recording special family events, holidays, etc. and collecting recipes for inclusion in memoir cookbooks. The best part about this is that the workshop series is FREE.

While there has been some confusion as to the dates of the workshop series (even the library’s website has conflicting information; however, I did call to confirm the correct dates), the series runs on three separate dates: Oct. 19, Nov. 2 and Nov. 16. If, however, you want additional clarification or to register for the workshop, contact the library directly at 203-256-3160. You can also register online at the website below.
